About TBT Group
TBT Group is a family of smart building technology companies based in Leigh, Greater Manchester, with a second office in London. We design the products, install the systems and run the software that make buildings cheaper to operate. Over the next five years the plan is to take that offer outside the UK.

The companies in the group make hardware and software, provide building management system (BMS) engineering, training and support, and run SaaS analytics that lower energy use and maintenance costs and improve conditions for the people inside.

Smart building systems, IoT products and building analytics
Hosted SaaS IoT dashboard platform
Our Halo platform shows all sensing, control and equipment data from remote buildings in one place, with historical logging, time control and alerts, in a web browser or in the TBT mobile apps.
IoT and automation product research, development and distribution
Our in-house design team makes products that connect, integrate and control the electrical and mechanical services that use energy in commercial and residential buildings, and that monitor consumption and indoor conditions. We distribute our own and partner products through a network of 40 partners.
Engineered smart building systems and remote monitoring
Our engineers design, project-manage and install building management and control systems that cut energy use, improve plant performance and bring different building systems onto one platform. Operators get visualisation, optimisation and alerts, and can share the data with third-party analytics and reporting tools.
SaaS predictive analytics with reporting
Tyrrell Analytics collects data from buildings continuously and applies rules and algorithms to find faults and waste. It monitors performance across many sites, keeps conditions right for occupants and produces the reports that legislation requires.

Alone we go faster, but together we go further
Our CEO, Ged Tyrrell, started in 1987 as an apprentice at a building management systems and controls firm. In the early nineties he saw what networking the separate systems inside a building could do, and led the projects at his then employer that showed where the industry was heading. In 1997 he founded Tyrrell Systems Ltd with £6,000.
The group has grown from there. Tyrrell Products makes and distributes software and hardware. In 2019 we bought Simaxx BV, now Tyrrell Analytics, whose SaaS platform analyses building operations and produces the reporting. In 2020 we created Halo and began R&D on IoT for the housing sector, where the pressure to cut energy and carbon is sharpest.
Each business has grown steadily, with more clients and new partnerships for the group. Private investment has let it widen what it does, and it now covers controls, products and analytics from one place. See the group companies.
